Bluetooth vs USB receiver: which mouse connection fits?

Choose around your ports and devices.

Deskwise editorial · · Research-based guidance

Count your available ports

A receiver mouse uses a USB port; a Bluetooth mouse needs supported Bluetooth. On a laptop with limited ports, that connection choice can matter more than a longer feature list.

Separate single-device and multi-device needs

The M185 is a simple receiver option. The M196 is a Bluetooth model. The M720 adds a multi-device workflow. Do not buy device switching unless you will actually use it.

Check before buying

Confirm operating-system support, receiver inclusion and whether your USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter. A receiver included with one listing may be absent from a used package.
